Assignments
*All written assignments MUST be written in essay form. It should include an introduction, body, and conclusion. It must be typed, double-spaced, normal (1 inch) margins, 12 font type.*
Salem
Watch the youtube video on the Salem Witch Trials and compare it to lecture in a one to two page response. Remember the key questions for historians are who, what, when, where, and most importantly why. It has been my experience that the better responses do an excellent job describing why a certain event took place.
Erie Canal
Watch the youtube video on building the Eire Canal and compare it to lecture in a one to two page response.
Abolitionists
Watch the youtube video on Abolitionists and compare it to lecture in a one to two page response.
Film Assignment
You are required to complete one of the three film assignments detailed in the syllabus and on the website. Each assignment is due one week after the lecture on the topic. For example: If we go over the revolutionary War on a Friday, the film assignment for The Patriot is due the following Friday. You are only required to complete one film assignment but if you are unhappy with the grade you received you may complete another.
Extra Credit
Extra credit questions are in different sections throughout the website. The questions are due the same week as the lectured topic, no exceptions. It is your responsibility to follow along the website with lecture. You have the opportunity to earn a maximum of 3% towards your final grade through extra credit. Extra credit questions do require notes from lecture and correct answers, they are not participation points.
